The show aired in various countries outside the US (I'm from Mexico). Okay I know Who Elvis Presley, Justin Timberlake and Meryl Streep are (They're very well known Worldwide celebrities) but the rest of other celebrities references I really didn't have any idea who were they. Also the most menacing villains have a silly joking moment (so that makes them less dangerous) it was like a golden rule while writing them xD One of the weakest things in the cartoon (in MY opinion) Since I remember the comedy wasn't that good xD I hardly laugh at the jokes specially when the villains try to be funny but they fail very bad. So I really loved the show and I keep asking myself why it didn't become as popular as I hoped, but well that is another topic so let's focus on things that I think they could have done better. But you know the show can be good and decent but the main problem is with the "Ratings" if it isn't doing that good as they expect means bad news. So the show had 3 seasons, and also I noticed a BIG improvement from S1 to S3. Usually the cartoons of the last years uses more frequently this kind of emotional and powerful scenes where you feel the pain and suffering of the character.Īn Example of this is that when June finds out that She can't leave her hometown until a new Te Xuan Ze replaces her.Īnd of course the action is part of this show xD, so it's nice to see how Juniper uses her magical items, her fighting skills and acrobatic movements while fighting magical creatures. This is one of the things that makes this cartoon special and ahead of it's time. Also I could say that Lila deserved more moments in season 3 because She's able to help June in her Te Xuan Ze duties with her magical senses and super strength. Some people get annoyed by this and think that they deserved to appear more or be involved in the main plot but there's nothing much to explore about them so I'm glad that they decided to keep them away from Juniper's adventures as a Te Xuan Ze They were created just to be her friends in her normal life and it's okay.Īlso June's parents only appeared when they needed to the same goes for the rest of the Lee's family.īut I kinda wish they gave more screen time to other characters like Marcus (I mean He's her love interest) xD and Melissa it'd have been interesting to see more of her rivalry with Juniper.
To be honest they aren't that interesting to have a whole episode focused on them. Fair screen time for MOST of the secondary characters:Ĭharacters like June's friends (Ophelia, Jody and Roger) have the screen time they deserve in the show. I was like.Really? and even this was so Out-of-character because She's smart xD so that kind of things fits more with Ray ray And also She has moments where She's brave, heroic (even rude sometimes xD) and in others She worries about her looks and tries to impress the boy She likes.īUT.some of her "excuses" aren't well written or believable xDD so this kind of moments where reminds me that "Oh, She's still a kid and doesn't think of what She's saying xDu" for example that moment where She has to go to take her cousin to the restroom because She comes from China and She'll get confuse because the restrooms aren't upside down or something. So that's some of the things I like of the main character, She takes her job seriously and tries her best to maintain a balance between her Te Xuan Ze duties and her life as a normal girl. So I was surprised that She's only 11 D: She's very mature and indepent for her age. When I saw the cartoon for the first time I thought Juniper was like 14 years old xDD because of her design and attitude. (So here I'll explain why She's still one of my fave female characters until now xD) This is what make me interested in the show for the first place, I felt in love with the character designs Mike Kunkel did an excellent job!
